Hello brent,
The summer is winding to a close and while it wasn't
the most spectacular year in way of numbers, the
quality was definitely higher than average this year.
This type of fishing can make it a bit frustrating for
those of us who can't put in as much time on the
water, but the pay off sure is huge.

FISH REPORT
|
|
Water temp is dropping and what seasonal yellowtail
there were in the area are starting to retreat to warmer
waters. There are still fish in the area but start
thinking about those deep iron rigs and halibut setups
for the winter fishery.
We've often recommended visiting
BigWatersEdge.com for the most up to date fishing
reports, well now those of you who launch from La
Jolla Shores will find a visit to the site before each
launch extremely beneficial!
OEX is pleased to announce this awesome
webcam,
focused on the launch at Avenida De La Playa so you
can check out the surf and conditions from the comfort
of your own home. We've all made the trip to the
launch in the morning and had to bail out due to the
unexpected surf. Now you can check it out from
home! The camera is installed on the La Jolla Beach
& Tennis Club and will provide kayak anglers,
recreational kayakers and beach goers alike with a
real time view of how conditions are before making
the trip down to the beach.

Eclipse Hoop Nets
Lobster season is open and now's the time to get out
there for some night time lobster hooping action.
Don't wait until late in the season when most of the
legals have been rounded up, get out there early and
maximize your chances. Even better, upgrade to the
new eclipse nets. These nets utilize another ring,
elevated above the main ring on four posts. This
creates a wall around the edge of the net while it rests
on the bottom, so the bugs can get into the net but
can't scoot out as easily when you begin your pull.
These nets WILL increase the amount of lobsters you
catch, compared to standard hoop nets.
October Newsletter Special:
Get your Eclipse Hoop Net for just
$29.99
this month only! Regular price is
$39.99
Special pricing is available to newsletter subscribers
only with the coupon provided at the end of this
