Born in Ojai Ca. As a child some of my
youngest memories are fishing for trout
with my father in the Sespe and Matillija
creeks around the Los Padres national
forest. Grew up in Ventura Ca fishing the
channel islands working on several sport
fishing boats. As a kid I got to fish all the
islands . This is when saltwater fishing
became such a big part of my life. My
family moved to Sacramento when I was
and Johnney 3. Active duty Navy of

16 where I soon started fishing the American river for Salmon and Steelhead.
Got into kayak fishing in 2002 when the sport started getting popular. Started out fishing the
bays to get used to being on a kayak and was out to where the real fish are in no time. After
my first kayak Yellowtail there was absolutely no turning back. In 2004 I won first place in the
Steve Moyer Memorial Tournament.
The thrill of hooking and landing big fish 6" off open water is like no other. Being a part of this
sport and other people that are involved with it has been an awesome experience. If you are a
fisherman but haven't tried kayak fishing you don't know what you are missing. No more fuel
or maintenance costs of a boat and being able to launch any place you want to are just a few
things that make the sport so great.
