Along the coastline of the La Jolla Shores are the magical Seven Sea Caves. Each with their own unique story, these caves are made of sandstone and were formed throughout the books of time. While there are many reasons to go kayaking in La Jolla, the caves are the pinnacle. With one of California’s only north facing cliffs, Sunny Jim’s cave is famous for having a staircase that allows those who are willing to get immersed into the reserve by land. But if you join a kayak tour not only can you get right up to Sunny Jim’s, but you can actually paddle into the Clam which is the most famous of the seven caves, the only one in California that is large enough to kayak into with an experienced guide that puts most rides at theme parks to shame.
