Hall Show went well for us and now we’re paying for
it! Once we get caught up on the installs we’ll have
some time to get a proper newsletter out. For now

FISH REPORT

There have been some white seabass caught late
last month and early this month, but not a lot of
consistency. For a few days it was the daily seabass
lotto, seemed like one person on the water would hit it
big while everybody else struck out. 50lbs was
average size for those fish. Look for that bite to
improve as the warmer water starts moving in, and as
always time on the water will maximize your chances.

Biggest news this month is our new location in
Sunset Beach!
We will be taking over the Malibu
Kayaks factory store at 16910 Pacific Coast Hwy,
Sunset Beach, CA 90742 as of the 15th. It’ll take
some work but our goal is to model the Point Loma
store, so if you’re in the area stop by the new location
and watch it grow! You might even be lucky enough to
score an autograph from the one and only
Andy “Iceman” Allen!
Our website for the new store will be launching in the
near future. In the meantime, here's some
information about the town that will be our new home
so that you can start planning your weekend getaways!

Islander mothership trips - Space
is still available for most of these overnight trips to
San Clemente Island April thru June 2007. The
June
8th trip is sold out, but we're still taking
reservations
for the following dates:
- Fri., April 27 - Sun., April 29
- Fri., May 11 - Sun., May 13
- Fri., May 25 - Sun., May 27
- Sun., June 17 - Tues., June 19
Day at the Docks - April 22 from 9:00 am - 5:00
pm. This takes place just steps from our Point Loma
location, the store will be closed that day, so stop by
and see us at this annual event for sportfishing. We'll
also hold a kayak fishing seminar aboard The
Islander, so don't miss it!

This is the year long, points based
big fish contest for SoCal kayak anglers. The contest
begins May 19th, 2007 with the WCW Kickoff
Tournament at La Jolla Shores and ends May 18,
2008. Anglers may enter the contest at any time during
the year, but it is advisable to register early to
maximize your points.

March Fish of the Month
|
|
Josh made a mad dash to the Point Loma store just
before closing on March 31st to weigh in this 52.8 lb
WSB. The quick drive earned him a Stansport 75 liter
Internal Frame Pack.
In the lead so far this month is Todd Bethe who
brought in a 48.3 lb WSB on April 3rd. A Scotty Triple
Rod Holder will be his unless someone out there can
top that before the end of the month.
